Visit Poznan

Poznań is one of the oldest and largest Polish cities, the capital of Wielkopolska. It is the fifth most populated city in Poland and seventh in terms of area. Poznań is a large economic and cultural center. Poznań is a city which combines tradition with modernity.

In the 10th and 11th century Poznań was the capital of Poland, but also a political and religious center of the developing Polish state and the residence of kings. We have beautiful monuments, dialect and regional cuisine and festivals.

While walking through the Old Town (the oldest district situated in the city center), you can find a pearl of Renaissance architecture – the Town Hall. The hill above the Old Market Square is dominated by the Royal Castle along with a fragment of ramparts. The oldest part of city is the Ostrów Tumski – former political center of the Polish state, where the oldest cathedral in the country is situated. Poznań’s attractions contain the numerous churches, palaces and castles, as well as monumental buildings of the Imperial District, including the most important – the Imperial Castle. At the same time we are the city of rapid expansion.

Next to the Old Market, you can visit the Old Brewery – a center of commerce, art and business- recognized by the International Foundation ICSC (International Council of Shopping Centers) as “the most beautiful shopping center in the world”. It is also one of the most attractive locations to invest in Poland.

Poznań offers you many monuments of industrial architecture, sport facilities as well as an exhibition center – Poznań International Fair.

For those eager to commune with nature, the gates of: two zoos, botanical garden, many parks and historical palm house are open to everyone.
